ATOCZ/ATO – 010
Approved Training Organisation for theoretical pilot training leading to the ATPL(A) licence, in accordance with EASA Part-ORA and Part-FCL.
Faculty of Transportation Sciences, CTU in Prague
ID No.: 68407700
Organisation approved for pilot training and examinations
Basic Information
Becoming a pilot is a childhood dream for many. The Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Transportation Sciences, holds the Approved Training Organisation certificate (ATO) and is authorised to provide theoretical training for the Airline Transport Pilot Licence for aeroplanes ATPL(A). Integrated practical training is provided in cooperation with our partner flight schools, which meet the requirements for quality, continuity and integrity of training.
The study programme "Professional Pilot" aims to give graduates a competitive advantage on the labour market. Aviation subjects go far beyond the minimum EASA requirements and are complemented by technical subjects such as algebra, calculus, physics and electrical engineering.

Training Process
At the start of their studies, students visit both partner flight schools and choose where they wish to undertake their practical flight training. The concept of integrated training means that students simultaneously study university subjects, applying that knowledge in practical flight lessons.
Practical training begins after completing the theory for flight training at the end of the first semester. During the second year, night flights and simulator training are added. In the third year, students fly under instruments, multi-engine training is added, and the integrated course concludes with a practical flight test on a multi-engine aircraft.
Total flight hours during practical training over the period of study is approximately 200 hours. After successfully completing training, theoretical examinations at the CAA, and the practical flight test, graduates hold a Commercial Pilot Licence with MEP land/IR rating — the so-called ATPL(A) frozen licence.
Financing Practical Training
An important aspect of the entire study is the cost of practical training, which each applicant pays from their own resources. The total cost of training is approximately CZK 1,650,000 incl. VAT. The amount is not paid all at once, but progressively according to hours actually flown, invoiced by the flight school at the end of each calendar month.
Contracted Flight Schools

Cooperation with DSA and F AIR is based on their more than 25 years of experience in providing integrated ATPL training, especially its practical part. F AIR, moreover, co-founded the Professional Pilot programme together with CTU in 1995. Our partnership is anchored in a cooperation agreement for flight training.
Both flight schools were selected on the basis of the high quality and safety standards with which they have long provided training. Over the course of our cooperation, they have successfully trained hundreds of pilots who have found employment in airline crews around the world.
Obtaining the ATPL Licence
After successfully completing all required modules, examinations, and the practical flight test, the graduate holds a Commercial Pilot Licence with MEP land/IR rating. Before joining an airline, a type rating on a specific aircraft type (e.g. Boeing 737, Airbus A320) is usually required. This type rating is not part of the practical training within the study programme.
